Virus Removal

A Headache You Really Shouldn't Have to Deal With

  • Malware

Malware is a nuisance. Whether it pops up error messages on your screen, or whether it causes youf computer not to be able to boot, the results are the same. It's frustrating. Not only that, but a lot of malware carries payloads of the software mentioned below. Adware and Spyware can give your personal data to nefarious hackers all over the world. Some forms of malware want you to buy their own programs to remove "threats" that don't even exist. Once you pay, not only have you lost your money for a worthless program, you have also lost your identity. Those unscrupulous individuals sell your information to the black-market to make even more revenue off you.

  • Viruses

Viruses are pieces of malicious software that self-propigate; like their human counterparts. Once they infect you, they can infect other computers over networks, through shared drives, and through email messages with attachments. Viruses can do anything from annoying popups to actually damaging data that is on your hard drive.

  • Trojans

Trojans are programs that look like they do one thing, and really do another thing, named after the famous horse that the Greeks left outside the city of Troy in the siege of Troy. Likewise, these programs look harmless when you install them, and then covertly do things that you are not aware of such as using your computer for sending unsolicited bulk email (SPAM)

  • Spyware

Spyware does exactly what the name implies. Spys on you. It can log all your keystrokes, it can steal your passwords, and some spyware can even hijack your webcam and microphone.

  • Adware

Adware simply bombards you with advertisements that you don't care to see. It often comes with "free" software. The reason that software is "free" is because the advertisers are paying the developer of that application to distribute their ads. My advice? NEVER download "free" software unless you KNOW that it is safe and free of malware.
